Business Equipment and Computer Applications: Legal software applications


Type of Legal Experience (Legal or Law Clerks Only): Administrative, Corporate, Patent and trade mark


Type of Establishment Experience: Legal firm, Trade mark agency, Company legal department, Research institute


Legal or Law Clerk Specific Skills: Prepare legal documents, court reports and affidavits, Research records, court files and other legal documents


Trade Mark Agent Specific Skills: Search trade mark registries to determine whether a trade mark has been registered, Prepare and present applications for trade mark registration, Advise clients on trade mark laws and regulations


Essential Skills: Reading text, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Computer use


Other Information:Responsible for preparation and filing of IP correspondence to patent offices in Canada and the US under the PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty), using manual and electronic filing systems.
